It’s been a long time since the sad news obscured a day like today many years ago. Still there is not a sole day without my thinking about you. You have meant so much to me since that day I saw you the first time.
Without your knowing it, you have taught me so much! A wide range of the values I have now, I’ve received them from you. And still today, I know that in a way, you’re not so far away from me and you continue teaching me: patience, attitude for challenge and learning, determination and perseverance (though sometimes it could be called stubbornness), curiosity, courage and strength, sense of friendship and love, honesty, loyalty, respect, responsibility, trustworthiness, hard work, commitment, keeping promises, and so many more.
Some time ago, life circumstances taught me how to be happy with simpler pleasures and I’ve learnt to live with less possessions. Today, the things that hurt me the most are indeed some people’s behaviors rather than my living with less comfort than I used to. I wish I’d have an unbreakable spirit as you had but unfortunately it’s not yet the case.
I really love several of your quotes, but there is one that particularly represents what I’ve been doing these last months: “Dare to gamble with your life”. Well, I don’t know if I’m gonna win everything, but there is one thing I’m sure about: I won’t lose! Everyday is a new lesson and that’s the best prize ever!
